From a very young age, DJ Graat’s love for music was already deeply rooted. As a child, he spent countless hours recording cassette tapes from his father equipment, filled with his favorite tracks, inspired by the hardcore sounds he heard on the radio. That was where his passion for selecting, recording, and mixing music truly began.

During his high school years, it became clear: Graat was destined to be a DJ — and hardcore was his calling. Meeting a like-minded friend with more experience and a room full of DJ equipment changed everything. The chemistry was instant, the friendship grew strong, and after his first visit to that gear-filled room, he was completely sold. This wasn’t just a hobby anymore; this was a way of life.

When the time came to afford his own DJ setup, he managed to get his hands on a proper vinyl setup, followed soon after by two brand-new Technics SL-1200 turntables. From that moment on, the marriage between DJ Graat and vinyl was sealed — and his love for hardcore only grew stronger.

Over the years, DJ Graat has played at almost every early hardcore event imaginable, from Thunderdome to Dominator, from Harmony of Hardcore to countless underground raves across Europe. As much as possible behind the decks with vinyl, always staying true to the raw essence of the scene.

His heart beats strongest for Early Hardcore, while his sets also reflect a deep love for Oldschool and Millennium sounds. Energetic, pure, and unmistakably Graat — driven by passion, experience and above all, respect for the roots of hardcore.

Today, DJ Graat stands as one of the true vinyl masters of the scene — a DJ who never lost touch with where it all began.
