Allow me to introduce you to MYPD, a refreshing duo that’s poised to conquer the global techno scene. Off stage, they are Yves-Michel Hantzsche and Dave Parker, two music enthusiasts with different backgrounds but one united vision. When positioned behind the decks and through their speakers, their beats are hypnotizing, groovy, and evoke a trance-like dance state unmatched in today’s music scene.
MYPD’s creative process begins with inspiration drawn from songs that move them. Astute observers of the resonance between melody and emotion, they strive to encapsulate that essence, creating tracks reminiscent of your favourite scent – they become a memory-trigger that transports you back to the very moment you first heard their beat.
Their distinctive blend of techno, trance, and euro dance is seen in their impressive back catalogue, with their recent output focusing on a melding of trance and euro dance. Their musical journey was kickstarted in Ravensburg; The younger of the duo, Dave Parker debuted his first set on Soundcloud in 2015 that caught the attention of many. He has quickly become a key figure in the local techno scene, known for his forward-moving style bursting with melody and groove.
Yves-Michel Hantzsche, born in Dresden, had a childhood bathed in rhythm. Beginning as a passionate drummer, he soon transitioned into professional music entertainment in his twenties, organising techno-events that quickly became a sensation for their dazzling energy and high-quality production. Yves-Michel’s career path took him from Ravensburg and Munich to the global techno scene, leaving an impressive trail of beats and bass lines.
Their influences are diverse – Marlon Hoffstadt, DJ Heartstring, Narciss and veterans Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, and Armin van Buuren, among others. Notably, they have expressed a deep desire to collaborate with DJ Heartstring and Marlon Hoffstadt in the not-too-distant future, proving they’re not afraid to aim high.
More than just a pastime, music to this duo is a lifestyle. And with them, techno is not just about the beat; it’s a commitment to unbridled energy and unwavering passion. The scene is being revitalised by MYPD’s commitment and zeal, which shows in their current endeavours. They are pouring their shared ambition into propelling MYPD to dizzying new heights, driving the Sick’N’Raw label forward with the same intensity.
As of now, future collaborations are still under wraps, but one thing is clear: MYPD is showing no signs of slowing down. With their upcoming release scheduled for 09/29/2023 under the Sick’N’Raw label, they continue to climb to the music industry’s zenith.
To quench their listeners’ thirst for live music, MYPD are also hitting the road, with performances planned at Douala Ravensburg, Old Villa Memmingen, Posthalle Würzburg, Weisser Hase Berlin, and Parktheater SNR. One can expect these gigs to be thrilling, high-energy affairs that showcase MYPD’s stellar blend of themes and groovy, trance-infused beats.
