Drum & Beer #38 : Aethra’s Bday Bash | Liquid 2 Neuro @Continental

For our 38th edition we’ll be celebrating Aethra’s birthday 🎉

Aethra, aka Benjamin Reggers, previously known as Machine Attax and Skankage, has played several times at Drum & Beer, and is the artist behind most of the visuals we’ve used. He produced many tracks, firstly in Jump Up, then in Ambient Liquid, and now in Neurofunk, that we’ve supported because we find them amazing.
And he’s now officially joined the Drum & Beer team 🥰

Seeing that Café Central cannot host us anymore, we’ve been on the lookout for new locations, and we’ve decided to try “Continental - Creative market, hub & café” out. It is located on place de Brouckère, under the most well known billboard in Brussels, The Coca-Cola billboard that’s been on top of the building since the fifties 😮

The line up includes DJs that are friends with Aethra and whom he wanted to invite to play for his birthday : Lyly, Guzny and Aheroser. The rest of the line up is composed of members of our crew ; James Marvel, Dee Faze, Phase3, Seka, Initial, Cellarman, and of course Aethra himself. And yes, you’ve read that right, James Marvel has decided to join our crew as resident DJ, so you’ll see him regularly on our line ups 🔥

Musical variety is on board, we always encourage our DJs to build a diverse musical journey, with a general stylistic direction ; this time we’ve organised the timetable to start with Liquid Funk and finish with some heavy Neurofunk, but many different sounds will pop up in between 🎶🎵🎶

🏛️ Continental is a very interesting project ; on the ground floor is the bar where the party will take place, on the three first floors you’ll find crafts·wo·men & artists exposing and selling their productions, as well as shops selling second hand clothes, glasses and even toys, on the fourth floor you’ll find tattoo artists and a beauty corner, and on the fifth and sixth floor are coworking spaces for entrepreneurs.

We like Continental because they have an alternative vibe, are engaged in the promotion of arts & crafts, and their values are close to ours: Quality, Respect, Tolerance, Sharing, Fun, Transparency, Integrity ☮️
We also like their drinks menu ; they sell local soft drinks from small craft producers like L’annexe, Cuarenta and Fritz, and to top it all off, they’re going to put two beers from small local craft breweries on their menu just for us 👀🍻

Notre 38e édition sera l'occasion de célébrer l'anniversaire d'Aethra 🎉

Aethra, alias Benjamin Reggers, anciennement connu sous les noms de Machine Attax et Skankage, s'est produit à plusieurs reprises chez Drum & Beer et est l'artiste à l'origine de la plupart des visuels que nous avons utilisés. Il a produit de nombreux morceaux, d'abord dans le style Jump Up, puis dans le style Ambient Liquid, et maintenant dans le style Neurofunk, que nous avons soutenus parce que nous les trouvons incroyables.
Et il a maintenant officiellement rejoint l'équipe de Drum & Beer 🥰

Comme le Café Central ne peut plus nous accueillir, nous avons cherché de nouveaux lieux et avons décidé d'essayer « Continental - Creative market, hub & café ». Situé sur la place de Brouckère, sous le panneau d'affichage le plus connu de Bruxelles, le panneau Coca-Cola qui trône au sommet du bâtiment depuis les années 50 😮.

La programmation inclut des DJ amis d'Aethra qu'il souhaitait inviter à jouer pour son anniversaire : Lyly, Guzny et Aheroser. Le reste de la programmation est composé de membres de notre équipe : James Marvel, Dee Faze, Phase3, Seka, Initial, Cellarman, et bien sûr Aethra lui-même. Et oui, vous avez bien lu, James Marvel a décidé de rejoindre notre équipe en tant que DJ résident, vous le verrez donc régulièrement apparaître sur nos affiches 🔥

La diversité musicale est au rendez-vous, nous encourageons toujours nos DJ à créer un voyage musical varié, avec une orientation stylistique générale ; cette fois-ci, nous avons organisé le programme pour commencer avec de la Liquid Funk et terminer avec de la grosse Neurofunk, mais de nombreux sons différents feront leur apparition entre les deux 🎶🎵🎶

🏛️ Continental est un projet très intéressant ; au rez-de-chaussée se trouve le bar où se déroulera la fête, aux trois premiers étages se trouvent des artisans et des artistes qui exposent et vendent leurs productions, ainsi que des boutiques vendant des vêtements, des lunettes et même des jouets d'occasion, au quatrième étage se trouvent des tatoueurs et un espace beauté, et aux cinquième et sixième étages se trouvent des espaces de coworking pour Entrepreneurs.

Nous aimons le Continental parce qu'il offre une ambiance alternative, qu'il s'engage dans la promotion des arts et de l'artisanat, et que ses valeurs sont proches des nôtres : qualité, respect, tolérance, partage, plaisir, transparence, intégrité ☮️
Nous apprécions également leur carte des boissons ; elle propose des boissons gazeuses locales provenant de petits producteurs artisanaux tels que L'annexe, Cuarenta et Fritz, et pour couronner le tout, ils vont ajouter deux bières provenant de petites brasseries locales et artisanales à leur carte, rien que pour nous 👀🍻

Voor onze 38e editie vieren we de verjaardag van Aethra 🎉

Aethra, ook bekend als Benjamin Reggers, voorheen bekend als Machine Attax en Skankage, heeft meerdere keren op Drum & Beer gedraaid en is de artiest achter het grootste deel van de visuals die we hebben gebruikt. Hij heeft veel tracks geproduceerd, eerst in Jump Up, daarna in Ambient Liquid en nu in Neurofunk, die we hebben ondersteund omdat we ze geweldig vinden.
En nu is hij officieel lid geworden van het Drum & Beer-team 🥰

Aangezien Café Central ons niet meer kan ontvangen, zijn we op zoek gegaan naar nieuwe locaties en hebben we besloten om “Continental - Creative market, hub & café” uit te proberen. Het ligt aan de Place de Brouckère, onder het bekendste advertentiebord van Brussel, het Coca-Cola-bord dat al sinds de jaren vijftig bovenop het gebouw staat 😮

De line-up bevat dj's die bevriend zijn met Aethra en die hij wilde uitnodigen om op zijn verjaardag te komen draaien: Lyly, Guzny en Aheroser. De rest van de line-up bestaat uit leden van onze crew: James Marvel, Dee Faze, Phase3, Seka, Initial, Cellarman en natuurlijk Aethra zelf. En ja, je leest het goed, James Marvel heeft besloten om zich bij onze crew aan te sluiten als resident DJ, je zult hem dus regelmatig op onze line-ups zien 🔥

Muzikale variatie verzekerd, we moedigen onze dj's altijd aan om een gevarieerde muzikale reis samen te stellen, met een algemene stilistische richting; deze keer hebben we het programma zo opgezet dat we beginnen met Liquid Funk en eindigen met zware Neurofunk, maar tussendoor komen er veel verschillende geluiden voorbij 🎶🎵🎶

🏛️ Continental is een heel interessant project; op de begane grond is de bar waar het feest plaatsvindt, op de eerste drie verdiepingen vind je ambachtslieden en kunstenaars die hun werk tentoonstellen en verkopen, evenals winkels die tweedehands kleding, brillen en zelfs speelgoed verkopen, op de vierde verdieping vind je tattoo-artiesten en een beautycorner, en op de vijfde en zesde verdieping zijn coworking spaces voor ondernemers.

We houden van Continental omdat ze een alternatieve sfeer hebben, zich inzetten voor de promotie van kunst en ambachten, en omdat hun waarden dicht bij die van ons liggen: kwaliteit, respect, tolerantie, delen, plezier, transparantie, integriteit ☮️
We houden ook van hun drankenkaart; ze verkopen lokale frisdranken van kleine ambachtelijke producenten zoals L'annexe, Cuarenta en Fritz, en bovendien gaan ze speciaal voor ons twee bieren van kleine lokale ambachtelijke brouwerijen op hun kaart zetten 👀🍻
