Tarraxinha—derived from the Portuguese verb "atarraxar" meaning "to screw on"—is a style of dance music that began in Angola as a derivation from Kizomba, which generally ranges from 80 to 100 beats per minute.

Produced electronically almost on its entirety, tarraxinha is characterized by its heavy-hitting beats and its electronic bass, putting less emphasis on melodies and vocals. Some of its pioneers were DJ Znobia and DJ Massacres, while DJ Nervoso and DJ N.
