"Trench" is another name for the genre also known as Riddim dubstep, also often referred as Wonky, Swamp, etc. It refers to a style of dubstep developed in the early 2010s consisting of repetitive, minimal patterns and a focus on sound design and flow. Getter's 2014 EP Trenchlords Vol.1 is one of the staples of the genre and to many it serves as sort of sonic manifesto for the subgenre.
