Go-go

A subgenre of funk that originated in the Washington, D.C., area during the mid- to late-1970s. As time passed, more and more of a hip-hop influence crept into go-go. There is, however, a retro movement going back to go-go's original style of marathon sessions covering currently popular R&B songs.
