Mumble Rap

An unofficial hip-hop/rap sub-genre. It is usually used in a derogatory way to describe modern hip-hop/rap of the 2nd decade of the 21st century. This was started around the mid-2010's and late-2010's and it may date as far back as the mid-late 2000's. During that time period, traditional hip-hop/rap fans, critics, and older artists such as Ice-T noted the decline of hip-hop/rap. Ice-T goes far as saying that hip-hop was killed by Soulja Boy (a possible big influence on "mumble rap").
