Jackin

Jack is a dance style started in ‘The Music Box’ Chicago when DJ Ron Hardy was playing early house and experimental electronica. The ‘Jackin’ is rhythmicaly jacking the whole body backwards and forwards to the music.

Who's Jack? The origin of the name Jack is Old English. It is a medieval diminutive, originally Jackin (earlier Jankin), of the Hebrew name John which means "God is gracious". Alternatively the origin may also be the name Jacques which is the French form of the Hebrew name Jacob which means "he who supplants".
