Plugg
Plugg is a subgenre of trap music that emerged in the mid-2010s. It was developed by producer MexikoDro and other members of the production group BeatPluggz, whose work drew influence from the minimalistic production style of trap pioneer Zaytoven. The genre is characterized by a relaxed sound featuring sparse drum patterns, minimal hi-hat use, sub-bass 808s, prominent low-end frequencies, piano samples, airy pads, and bright or icy synthesizers. Productions typically incorporate claps on the third beat while limiting snares to half beats.
