How to create an artist page on the Sway mobile application.
Create an artist page
Artist pages on Sway are public pages that showcase a DJ, band, live act or any musical artist. Followers receive notifications when the artist is added to an event lineup.
How to open the creation screen
- Open the Settings page or the Explore page → tap the + button.
- Choose Artist.
Form fields
Cover image (required)
Tap the camera icon at the top of the form to select a photo from your gallery.
- Recommended dimensions: 1 : 1 ratio (square), minimum 400 × 400 px.
- Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WebP.
Artist name (required)
Enter the public name of the artist as it should appear on Sway.
Description (required)
Write a description of the artist.
- Supports Markdown formatting: bold, italic, links, lists, headings.
- Tap the Preview button (toolbar) to see the rendered output before submitting.
Tips for a good artist description:
- Describe their musical universe, influences and style.
- List any notable past events or residencies.
- Genres can be assigned after creation from the artist edit page.
- All links can be added or updated after creation from the artist edit page. Supported link types:
- Music platforms: Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer, Bandcamp, Tidal
- Social media: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, Wikipedia
- Contact: multiple email addresses
- Website and additional contact options will be available in a future update.
Submitting the form
Tap the Create Artist button at the bottom of the form.
What happens next:
- The artist page is created on Sway.
- You are automatically added as the Administrator of this artist page.
- You are automatically set as a follower of the artist.
After creation
Once the artist profile is created, you can:
- Edit all details, add genre tags and social media links from the artist page.
- Invite team members to manage the page: Settings → Manage → Edit button → shield icon on the edit screen.
- Add the artist to event lineups when creating or editing an event.
- Share the artist page with others so they can follow it.
