Edit a Promoter

How to update a promoter page on the Sway mobile application.

Edit a Promoter Page

Update your collective's information, add social links or manage your team directly from the Sway app.

How to open the edit screen

  1. Navigate to the promoter page (search by name or find it via Settings → Manage → Promoters).
  2. Tap the edit icon (✏️) in the top-right corner of the promoter page.

The edit icon is only visible to users with Manager or Admin permissions on this promoter.

Editable fields

Cover image

Tap the current cover image to replace it with a photo from your gallery.

  • Recommended: square (1:1), minimum 400 × 400 px.

Promoter name

Public name of the collective or company.

Description

The public description of the promoter.

  • Supports Markdown formatting.
  • Use the Preview tab to see the rendered output.
What to include in a promoter description:
  • The music styles or scene the collective focuses on, years of activity or founding story, regular events or residencies.
  • Social media, website and contact links are not yet available for promoter pages — this feature will be added in a future update.

Music genres

Tap Manage Genres to open the genre selector:

  1. Tap a genre chip to add or remove it.

Resident artists

Tap Manage Resident Artists to link artists who regularly perform under this promoter:

  1. Search for an artist by name.
  2. Tap to add or remove them.

Managing team members

If you are the Administrator of a promoter, you can grant access to other users:

  1. On the edit screen, tap Manage Team (or access via Settings → Manage → Promoter → shield icon).
  2. Search for a Sway user by username.
  3. Assign a permission level: User, Manager or Admin.
By default, permissions granted on a promoter are automatically shared with all events created by that promoter. This means any team member you add to a promoter will also have access to its events. To disable this behaviour, go to the promoter's edit menu → tap the shield icon to manage permissions → tap the gear icon and disable "Share Promoter Permissions".

Notification preferences

As an administrator, you can manage notification settings for the promoter (e.g. be notified when someone follows the promoter):

  • Tap Notification Preferences on the edit screen to configure alerts.

Deleting a promoter

Only Administrators can delete a promoter.
Deletion is permanent — all linked events will lose their association to this promoter.
  1. On the edit screen, tap Delete Promoter.
  2. Confirm in the dialog.
