Manage Permissions
Manage Permissions
Every page on Sway (artist, promoter, venue or event) has a team of users with different permission levels. As an Administrator, you control who can access and modify the page.
Permission levels
| Role | View details | Edit page | Delete page | Manage team |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| User (Read-only) | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ |
| Manager | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
| Admin | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
How to access the team management screen
There are two ways to open the team management screen for any page:
From the page directly:
- Navigate to the entity page.
- Tap the edit icon (✏️) in the top-right corner.
- On the edit screen, tap Manage Team.
From Settings:
- Open Settings → Manage.
- Find the page you want to manage.
- Tap the shield icon next to it.
Inviting a team member
- Open the team management screen for the page.
- Search for a Sway user by username.
- Select the user from the results.
- Choose a permission level: User, Manager or Admin.
- Confirm to send the invitation.
The user will have immediate access to the page at the assigned permission level.
Changing or removing a member
- Open the team management screen.
- Find the user in the member list.
- Tap their entry to change their permission level, or tap Remove to revoke access.
Share Promoter Permissions (events)
By default, permissions granted on a promoter are automatically shared with all events created by that promoter. This means any team member you add to a promoter will also have access to its events.
To disable this behaviour:
- Navigate to the promoter page and tap the edit icon.
- On the edit screen, tap the shield icon to open the permissions settings.
- Tap the gear icon.
- Disable "Share Promoter Permissions".
Administrator transfer
An entity can have multiple administrators at the same time — there is no single "owner" restriction.
To transfer control and step down as admin, use the following approach:
- Invite the other person and set their role to Admin.
- Once they have accepted, go back to the team member list and remove your own permissions.
