How to update an artist page on the Sway mobile application.
Edit an Artist Page
You can update all information on an artist page as long as you are a Manager or Administrator of that artist.
How to open the edit screen
- Navigate to the artist page (search by name or find it via Settings → Manage → Artists).
- Tap the edit icon (✏️) in the top-right corner of the artist page.
If the edit icon is not visible, you do not have editing permissions on this artist.
Editable fields
Cover image
Tap the current cover image to replace it with a new one from your gallery.
- The old image is replaced once the form is saved.
- Recommended: square (1:1), minimum 400 × 400 px.
Artist name
The public display name of the artist.
Description
The artist description.
- Supports Markdown formatting.
- Use the Preview tab to see the rendered output.
Tips for a good artist description:
- Describe their musical universe, influences and style.
- List any notable past events or residencies.
- Genres can be assigned after creation from the artist edit page.
- All links can be added or updated after creation from the artist edit page. Supported link types:
- Music platforms: Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer, Bandcamp, Tidal
- Social media: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, Wikipedia
- Contact: multiple email addresses
Music genres
Tap Manage Genres to open the genre selector:
- Tap a genre chip to add or remove it.
Social media links
Add external links to the artist's online presence:

Managing team members
If you are the Administrator of an artist, you can grant access to other users:
- On the edit screen, tap Manage Team (or access via Settings → Manage → Artist → shield icon).
- Search for a Sway user by username.
- Assign a permission level: User, Manager or Admin.
Notification preferences
As an administrator, you can manage notification settings for the artist (e.g. be notified when someone follows the artist):
- Tap Notification Preferences on the edit screen to configure alerts.
Deleting an artist
Only Administrators can delete an artist page.
Deletion is permanent — all associated data (genre links, follower records) will be removed.
- On the edit screen, tap Delete Artist (accessible to admins only).
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
