Create a Promoter

How to create a promoter page on the Sway mobile application.

Create a Promoter Page

A Promoter on Sway represents an event-organising entity: a collective, a label, a company or an individual promoter. To publish events on Sway, you must either create a Promoter page or have Manager or Administrator permissions on an existing one.

How to open the creation screen

  1. Open the Settings page or the Explore page → tap the + button.
  2. Choose Promoter.

Why create a Promoter first?

You must have a Promoter page before creating Events.
Events on Sway are always linked to a Promoter. When creating an event, you select the Promoter that organises it — and you must be a Manager or Administrator of that Promoter to do so.

Form fields

Cover image (required)

Tap the camera icon at the top of the form to pick a photo from your device gallery.

  • Recommended: square image (1:1 ratio), minimum 400 × 400 px.
  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WebP.

Promoter name (required)

The public name of your collective, company or project.

Description (required)

A public description of the promoter: history, focus, music genres, contact info, etc.

  • Supports Markdown formatting (bold, links, lists…).
  • Toggle the Preview tab in the toolbar to see the rendered result.
What to include in a promoter description:
  • The music styles or scene the collective focuses on, years of activity or founding story, regular events or residencies.
  • Music genres can be assigned after creation from the promoter edit page.
  • Social media, website and contact links are not yet available for promoter pages — this feature will be added in a future update.

Submitting the form

Tap the Create Promoter button at the bottom.

What happens next:

  1. The promoter page is created on Sway.
  2. You are automatically added as the Administrator of this promoter page.
  3. You are automatically set as a follower of the promoter.

After creation

Once the promoter page is created, you can:

  • Edit all details, add genre tags and social media links from the promoter page.
  • Invite team members to manage the page: Settings → Manage → Edit button → shield icon on the edit screen.
  • Create events linked to this promoter.
  • Share the promoter page with others so they can follow it.
