Edit a Promoter

How to update a promoter page on the Sway mobile application.

Update your collective's information, add social links or manage your team directly from the Sway app.

How to open the edit screen

  1. Open the promoter page (search for it, or find it via Settings → Manage Entities).
  2. Tap the ⋯ menu in the top bar.
  3. Choose Edit.

Edit only appears in that menu if you have Manager or Admin rights on this page. The menu's other item, Report a mistake, is there for everyone.

The pencil that used to sit in the top-right corner is gone — the whole app bar moved to floating glass islands. See Getting around the app.

The edit screen's top bar

Three icons sit in the edit screen's top bar, and the primary action sits at the bottom:

ControlWhat it does
Manage access (shield-with-plus icon)Invite team members and set their permission level.
Notifications (bell icon)Follow-notification settings for this page.
Delete (bin icon)Delete the page. Hidden entirely if you are not allowed to.
Save changes (bottom bar)Saves the form. It disappears instead of greying out when you only have read access.

Editable fields

Cover image

Tap the image slot to replace the picture with one from your gallery. The app opens a cropper locked to a square (1:1) — frame it and confirm.

  • The old image is replaced once the form is saved.
  • Minimum 400 × 400 px.

Promoter name

Public name of the collective or company.

Description

The public description of the promoter.

  • Supports Markdown formatting.
  • Use the Preview tab to see the rendered output.
What to include in a promoter description:
  • The music styles or scene the collective focuses on, years of activity or founding story, regular events or residencies.
  • A website field and extra contact options are not available yet — they will be added in a future update.

Genres

In the Genres section, tap the arrow in the section header to open the genre selector, then tap a genre chip to add or remove it.

Resident Artists

In the Resident Artists section, tap the arrow in the section header, then search for an artist by name and tap to add or remove them.

In the Links section, add external links to the promoter's online presence:

Music platforms

  • Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer, Bandcamp, Tidal

Social media

  • Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, Wikipedia

Contact

  • Multiple email addresses
A dedicated website field is not available yet — it will be added in a future update.

Managing team members

  1. On the edit screen, tap the manage-access icon in the top bar.
  2. Tap + and search for a Sway user by username.
  3. Pick a role.
RoleWhat it allows
ViewerView the information related to the page.
EditorEdit content, lineup and gallery, without managing members.
ManagerEdit the page and manage part of the access.
AdminEdit, delete the page and manage full access.
A page always keeps at least one Admin — the last one cannot be demoted or removed.
By default, permissions granted on a promoter are automatically shared with all events created by that promoter. This means any team member you add to a promoter will also have access to its events. To disable this behaviour, open the promoter's edit screen → tap the manage-access icon → tap the gear icon and disable "Share Promoter Permissions".

Follow notifications

Tap the bell icon in the edit screen's top bar to choose whether you are notified when someone follows this page.

Deleting a promoter

Only Administrators can delete a promoter.
Deletion is permanent — all linked events will lose their association to this promoter.
  1. Tap the bin icon in the edit screen's top bar. It is hidden entirely if you are not allowed to delete.
  2. Confirm in the dialog.
