Page Settings

The settings screen shared by promoter, artist and venue pages in the Sway web app: identity, description, genres, links, custom URL and deletion.

Promoter, artist and venue pages are edited on the same screen. The heading changes, one or two tabs differ, and everything else behaves identically, so this page describes all three at once and names the differences where they are.

Events are not covered here. They have their own screen, with their own dates, stages and ticketing, described in Event settings.

Open the settings screen

  1. Open Manage, then click your page.
  2. Click Settings in the left sidebar.

The heading reads Promoter Settings, Artist Settings or Venue Settings, alone on its line. On a page still on the Basic plan an Upgrade button sits at the top right, and hovering it reads Upgrade your plan to unlock premium features.

Which tabs each page type has

TabPromoterArtistVenue
MainYesYesYes
External LinksYesYesYes
URLYesYesYes
PayoutsYesYesYes
TipsYesNoNo
Sale alertsYesNoNo
PartnersYesNoYes
Sway VerifiedYesYesYes
Danger zoneOwner onlyOwner onlyOwner only

The order is the same on the three: Main, External Links, URL, Payouts, then the tabs a page type has on its own (Tips, Sale alerts and Partners on a promoter, Partners on a venue), then Sway Verified and Danger zone. When the window is too narrow for every tab, the last ones move into a More dropdown at the right end of the bar; on a phone the bar scrolls sideways instead.

One tab can sit in the bar without opening. URL is greyed below the Starter plan, with the tooltip Upgrade to Starter to unlock this feature., and plans are covered in Plans and Billing. External Links opens the same way on all three page types.

Main tab

The identity card

The card is titled Identity and holds the picture and the name.

Click the square to pick an image, or drop a file straight onto it on a computer, then crop it. The hint under it states the rule: JPG, PNG or WebP. Max 10 MB. Hovering the square reads Upload image.

The name field is Promoter name, Artist Name or Venue name depending on the page, and it is required.

Venues also carry an address. The Address field autocompletes as you type, and the line under it says why to pick a suggestion: Pick a suggestion: it places the venue on the map and in nearby searches. Type an address freehand and the line turns into a warning, Not on the map yet. Pick this address from the suggestions to place the venue., until you pick one. Saving freehand text stores the words and keeps the old position.

The Verified badge is a display, not a switch. All three page types show a Verified pill in this card once the page has been verified, and Not verified until then. It cannot be turned on here and it is never written by a save. It is set for you when a claim on the page is accepted, which is what the Sway Verified tab is about, described below.

Description

A Markdown editor with the placeholder Describe the promoter..., Describe the artist... or Describe the venue.... It is what a booker reads before deciding to work with you, and what a punter reads before deciding to come.

Genres, resident artists and promoters

Below the two cards sit the relation lists, which differ per type:

Page typeLists on this tab
PromoterGenres, Resident Artists
ArtistGenres
VenueGenres, Resident Artists, Promoters

Each list is a card with a button in its header and the current entries as chips below, each carrying an ✕ that takes it off the list. The button reads Add genre on every genre card, Add artist on a list of resident artists, and Add promoter on a venue's promoters. An empty list is a dashed box reading No linked genre., No resident artist. or No linked promoter., and clicking it does the same as the button.

The button opens a panel on the right, titled Add genres, Add resident artists or Add promoters:

  1. Type in the search field. Genres are listed at once. Artists and promoters are looked up across all of Sway from the second letter on, and the panel says so until then: Type at least two letters to search.
  2. Tick every row you want. Entries already on the list are not offered again.
  3. Click Add. The button counts your picks, as in Add (3).

The panel only fills the list: nothing is written until the tab is saved, and Discard puts the list back as it was, removed chips included.

Capacity

A venue's tab ends with a Capacity card: one field per way the room can be set, Standing, Seated, Theatre, Cabaret, Banquet, Cocktail and Classroom. Its line says how to fill it: How many people the venue holds in each layout. Fill only the ones that apply: they are alternatives, so the largest figure is the venue's capacity. Partner sites can show it through the API.

  1. Type the number of people for each layout the venue uses.
  2. Leave the others empty: an empty field means the room is never set that way, not that it holds nobody.
  3. Save the tab.

Each figure is a whole number from 1 to 1,000,000. Anything else outlines the field in red, and the save bar names it, as in Standing: a whole number from 1 to 1,000,000, until it is fixed. A card left entirely empty saves no capacity. Partner sites read the figures with GET /v1/venues/{id}/capacity.

Save the tab

The tab saves with the bar every settings screen uses:

  1. Change anything on the tab: the picture, the name, the description, the address or the capacity on a venue, or a list.
  2. A bar appears at the bottom of the screen reading You have unsaved changes, with Discard and Save changes.
  3. Click Save changes. The confirmation reads Changes saved.

Everything on the tab saves together, chips included, and Discard undoes all of it. Switch tab, go back, or leave the screen while the bar is showing and a Leave without saving? dialog asks first, reading Your changes to this page will be lost.: Discard leaves, Cancel keeps your edits. While the name is empty, or only spaces, the bar reads Give the page a name before saving. instead, and Save changes waits; on a venue, so does a capacity that is not a whole number from 1 to 1,000,000.

A refused picture blocks the whole save. The image you choose is not uploaded when you pick it, only when you save, and it is checked automatically on the way up. If that check refuses it, the message replaces the success toast and the tab stops there: the name, the description and the lists you edited in the same pass are not written either. Choose another image and save again.

Present and working on all three page types, with the same two cards and the same save bar as Main. Streaming holds Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer, Bandcamp and Tidal, and Social holds Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X / Twitter and Wikipedia. Promoter and venue pages carry one extra field, Website, at the end of the Social card, which an artist page does not have: thirteen address fields on a promoter or venue, twelve on an artist.

The first card says what the links are for. On a promoter or venue it reads Each link you fill in becomes a button on the public page. An empty field shows nothing.; on an artist it reads Each link you fill in becomes a button on the public artist page. An empty field shows nothing. Each field carries an example address as its placeholder. Leave the ones you do not use empty; they are dropped rather than stored blank.

Saving rewrites what you typed. An address pasted without https:// gets it, tracking parameters are stripped from every address on the way in, and the cleaned version is put back in the field, so a link copied out of a social app comes back shorter than you left it. That is the version stored and published. The confirmation reads External links saved, on all three page types.

Fields the tab does not show are kept. A promoter or venue imported from elsewhere can carry addresses this tab never displays, such as a phone number on an imported promoter: saving the tab writes only the fields shown here and leaves the rest of the stored record untouched.

The lists match the mobile app's. A link added on the web shows in the app, and one added in the app shows here, Website aside: the app does not carry that field, since it only exists on a promoter or venue page in the web app.

Contact emails

The Contact Emails card at the bottom of the tab holds a list of addresses, each with a type beside it. On an artist page it says where they go: Shown behind an envelope button on the public page, each under its type. On a promoter or venue page the card holds the same fields with no note under its title. Click Add email, choose the type, type the address. The bin at the end of a row removes it. With none, the card shows a dashed box reading No contact emails., which adds a row too. Addresses imported with the page are listed like the ones you typed.

Twelve types are offered: General, Booking, Press, Management, A&R, Radio, Distribution, Touring, Label, Publishing, Information and Professional.

Two of them, General and Professional, read almost the same. Pick one of the two as your catch-all and use it consistently, so a booker reading the page is never choosing between two addresses that mean the same thing.

The tab saves on its own, with the same bar as Main: You have unsaved changes, Discard, Save changes. Leaving it with unsaved links asks first.

URL tab

Two addresses and a QR code. Greyed below the Starter plan on all three page types.

Permanent URL is the address the page always answers on. It never changes and cannot be removed. The buttons beside it copy it and open it in a new tab.

Custom URL is a short readable address you choose, shown with an Active or Inactive pill once it exists.

  1. Open the URL tab.
  2. Type the address you want in the field, after the sway.events/artist/, sway.events/venue/ or sway.events/promoter/ prefix.
  3. Wait for the line under the field to report the address free.
  4. Click Create custom URL, or Update if you are changing one you already have. The button sits in the bar at the bottom of the screen, and until the address is usable the bar says what it waits for: Type an address to save it. or Choose an address that is free to save it.

Renaming a live address warns first. When the custom URL is Active and you type a different one, a This link is live block says that the old address stops working as soon as you save, and that anything already printed or posted with it will lead nowhere. Creating a first address, or changing an inactive one, breaks nothing and shows no warning.

Opened through a link below the Starter plan, the tab still shows the Permanent URL, which works on every plan. The custom address is replaced by Custom URLs come with Starter, reading The permanent URL works on every plan. Upgrade to choose a short, readable one., with an Upgrade button that opens the page's plan. It reads the same on the three page types.

The field lowercases capitals as you type, drops anything outside a-z, 0-9 and the hyphen, and collapses doubled hyphens into one. A counter on the right tracks the length. The address must start with a lowercase letter, end with a letter or a digit, and be 3 to 80 characters long, so 2026-tour and nye- are both refused despite using nothing but accepted characters.

The line under the field tells you where you stand. It reads Checking… while the address is being looked up, Available when it is free, Already taken when somebody has it, Active when it is the one already saved, and Invalid format (e.g. my-event-2026) when the shape is wrong. Only that last one adds the three rules as bullet points underneath, so a red line with no bullets means the address is taken rather than malformed.

A QR Code card appears below once a custom address exists, and See URL stats in Insights takes you to the clicks it collected, covered in Insights.

Delete removes the custom address at once, behind a Delete custom URL? dialog stating This action is irreversible. Anything already printed or posted with that address stops working, and the permanent URL is unaffected.

Payouts tab

Present on all three page types. It connects a Stripe account to the page, and reports whether Stripe has cleared it with three separate indicators. Below it sit Earnings & payouts, what Sway Boost has earned the page, and Tax information (Sway Partners), the details those earnings need. The account settings and the tax form save together, with one bar at the bottom of the screen.

The full procedure, what each indicator means and why an event can have ticketing switched on and still take no money are in Connect Payouts. Which promoter is paid for a given event is decided on the event itself, on its own Payouts tab, described in Event settings.

Tips tab

Promoter pages only, and only for people who can edit the page's settings. One switch, Offer a tip on all my events, offers buyers an optional tip at checkout on every event this promoter gets paid for. It is off until you turn it on, and it applies as soon as you flip it.

Each event can still decide for itself on its own Tips tab, described in Event settings. Under the switch, one block says what buyers see now, or why this payment account cannot take tips: no Stripe account yet, or an account established outside the European Union. How the whole feature works is in Tips and Donations.

Sale alerts tab

Promoter pages only, and it says what it is for at the top: Get notified when a ticket sale is validated for this page.

It comes in three parts. Notify me with push is yours alone and saves as soon as you flip it. Telegram sends the alerts to chats shared by the whole page, for everybody. Page settings is shared too, and holds Cadence and Digest window as rows of pills and Include free orders as a switch, with a line underneath that says what they add up to. Changing one raises a bar at the bottom of the screen reading Unsaved alert settings, with Discard and Save. People who cannot change them see the values with the note Only managers can change these settings.

Include guestlist invites is not here: comps are issued per event, so that switch lives on the event.

The identical tab on an event, described option by option, is under Sale alerts in Event settings.

Partners tab

Promoter and venue pages. A wall of sponsor and partner logos, and the line at the top says exactly where they surface: Add your partners' logos. Only the logo is shown on your app's Partners screen, the name is just for your reference.

  1. Click Add partner. A panel opens on the right.
  2. Click the dashed square marked Add logo and pick an image.
  3. Fill in Name. It is only ever seen by you.
  4. Fill in Website (optional) if the logo should be tappable.
  5. Click Add partner at the foot of the panel. The partner is saved at once.

Both the name and the logo are required, and until they are, the foot of the panel says which one is missing. Each row shows the logo, the name and the website, or No link, the logo is not tappable. The pencil at the end of a row opens the same panel as Edit partner, where the name and the website can change (the logo cannot), and Save writes it. The bin removes the partner behind a Remove this partner? confirmation. Past six partners a search field appears above the list. With none, the tab reads No partners yet, with an Add partner button.

Sway Verified tab

Present on all three page types. It opens on one block saying where the page stands: Sway Verified (This page is officially verified on Sway.), Your request is under review when a request of yours is waiting, Your last request was not accepted when your latest one was declined, with its date, or This page is not verified yet. Under the block, the Type and the Page the request is made for.

This tab asks for the badge, it does not hand the page over. The request goes to the same people at Sway as a claim, but accepting it only verifies the page: nobody is added or removed, and nothing else changes. The answer arrives in your notifications: Page verified, or Verification refused, which leads back to this tab to send a new request.

On a page not yet verified, with nothing of yours under review, the form sits under Request verification: an Evidence box, marked optional and capped at 2 000 characters, and a Proof document, also optional, dropped or picked, described as PDF, image or document, 10 MB maximum. Click Submit request. If you leave the tab with something typed, a Leave without saving? dialog asks first.

Only an admin of the page can ask. The request needs the right to edit the page's settings: someone who can only look at them is turned away, with Only an admin of this page can ask for its verification. above the button. A page has one request under review at a time: if another admin already sent one, the form answers A verification request for this page is already under review.

View history appears as soon as the page has any claim behind it, with their count, and opens a Request history panel on the right listing them all, including ones other people submitted. Each row carries its date, the evidence written with it, and a status of Pending, In review, Rejected or Accepted.

Reviewing claims other people make on your pages is in Claim & Verify a Page.

Danger zone

Visible to the page owner only. It holds one action, Delete this page, under a line warning that deleting the page, named in full, is permanent and cannot be undone.

The action sits in a panel framed in red, with the list of what the deletion takes: The public page and its custom URL stop working., Its followers are removed. (when there are some) and Everyone who had access to this page loses it. An artist adds Its genres, streaming tracks and residencies are removed., a venue with events attached adds Events held here stay online, without this venue., and a promoter with events adds Its events stay online, but no longer list it as their organizer.

  1. Open the Danger zone tab.
  2. Click Delete this page.
  3. Type the page name exactly as it appears, including capitals and punctuation. The dialog shows the exact string under To confirm, type this name exactly:, and you can select it there.
  4. Click the red confirm button.

The confirm button stays inert until what you typed matches the name character for character, spaces at either end aside, and a different name is flagged under the field with That is not the exact name. That is the only safeguard, and it is deliberate.

A page with paid orders behind it cannot be deleted. The button is disabled and a line under it reads This promoter cannot be deleted because paid orders are associated with it., or the same sentence naming the artist or the venue. There is no override in the interface.

Deleting a page is permanent. Its public page, its followers, its custom address and everything attached to it go with it. There is no archive, no trash and no support request that brings it back. If what you want is to stop using a page rather than erase it, leave it alone: an unused page costs nothing, and a deleted one cannot be recovered.

With view-only access

If your role on the page grants viewing but no editing, every tab still opens and every value is still readable, with all controls disabled: no upload, no ✕ on the chips, no Save. Danger zone does not appear at all, since it belongs to the page owner.

Who may edit what is set on the page's own Permissions screen, described in Team and Permissions. The mobile equivalent is Manage Permissions.

Creating pages, rather than editing them, is covered in Create a Promoter Page and Create an Artist or Venue Page.
