Edit Your Profile

You can update your Sway profile at any time from Settings.

How to open the edit screen

1. On Explore, tap the avatar at the top right — your profile opens.
2. Tap the gear icon → Settings.
3. Tap Edit your account profile, the row at the top of Settings.

The form is grouped into four sections: Cover, Identity, About and Links.

Editable fields

Profile picture (avatar)

In the Cover section, tap the image slot and pick a photo from your gallery. The app then opens a cropper locked to a square (1:1) — frame the picture and confirm.

• Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WebP.

Username

Your public display name on Sway — visible to all users on your profile, in chats and throughout the app.

• Is unique across the platform.
• Avoid special characters.

Email address

The email address linked to your Sway account.

• Used for login, password resets and notifications.
• After changing your email, a confirmation link is sent to the new address. You must click it to activate the change.

Bio

A short description of yourself displayed on your public profile, under About you.

• Supports Markdown formatting (bold, italic, links, lists…).
• Use the Preview toggle to see the rendered output.

Links

The Links section puts your own accounts on your public profile:

• Music platforms: Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube
• Social media: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter

Password reset

If you want to change your password:

1. Tap Reset Password.
2. A password reset email is sent to your address.
3. Click the link in the email to set a new password.

Delete account

1. Scroll to the bottom of the profile edit screen and tap Delete Account.
2. Confirm the deletion in the confirmation dialog.
3. Your account is deleted and you are signed out.
