Your Account
Everything on these screens is about you, not about a page you manage: your profile, who sees what of it, who may follow or message you, what you bought, and the account itself. They sit in the same admin as your pages, reached from your picture at the top right of the screen.
Open your profile
- Click your picture at the top right of the admin.
- Click Profile.
The screen is headed Profile. Four links sit across the top, each saying what is waiting there:
- Privacy & Data, for who sees what, your data and deleting the account,
- Requests, with the number of follow and message requests waiting, or Nothing waiting,
- Blocked & restricted, for the people you blocked, restricted, hid or muted,
- Notifications, for what the bell tells you, and where else.
Edit your profile
Four cards make one form: Profile Picture, Username, Email Address and Bio. As soon as you change any of them, a bar appears at the bottom of the screen reading Unsaved changes to your profile, with Discard and Save. Nothing is written until you click Save. Leaving the screen with unsaved changes asks Leave without saving? first.
- Profile Picture: Change picks an image (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, 10 MB at most). It shows at once, marked New picture, uploaded when you save., and is checked before it is accepted.
- Username: 4 to 20 characters, lowercase letters, digits,
.and_. The field checks the name as you type, says what is wrong in your language, and tells you whether it is free. - Email Address: changing it sends a confirmation link to the new address. Nothing changes until that link is opened: the field keeps the address you sign in with, and a note underneath says Waiting for confirmation of the new one.
- Bio: shown on your public profile, written in Markdown, with Edit and Preview.
While a field is not valid, Save stays shut and the bar says why, for example Fix the username to save or Checking availability….
Security sits apart from the form, because it is an action: Reset Password sends a reset link to your email address.
Social links
Below the four cards, full width, sits a Social links block, part of the same form as Profile Picture, Username, Email Address and Bio: one save bar, one Discard, changing a link is exactly like changing your bio. It holds two cards, Streaming (Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube) and Social (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X / Twitter). There is no email card here: this is the personal list, the one the mobile app's own profile screen edits too, not the twelve-platform list a page carries, and it never asks for a contact address.
The note under Streaming reads Shown as buttons on your public profile, to
people who are logged in to Sway. An empty field shows nothing. Leave a field
empty and no button appears; nothing is stored blank. Saving cleans the address
the way a page's links are cleaned: https:// is added when missing and tracking
parameters are stripped. A save that fails reads Failed to update social
links.
The lists match the mobile app's. An edit made here shows in the app, and one made in the app shows here.
Only a logged-in visitor sees them. On your public profile, the buttons show to a visitor signed in to Sway, and are held back entirely from an anonymous visitor, from someone you have blocked, and from a visitor who cannot see a private account because they do not follow it. You always see your own: the owner is exempt from every one of these checks.
Privacy & Data
The Privacy & Data screen holds five cards that save together with one bar, Unsaved privacy changes, like the profile. Every choice is a row of buttons, and the line under it says what the choice does.
- Profile visibility: Who can see my profile, Everyone or Followers. Followers limits every section below too: the stricter setting wins. Private account makes new followers ask first. Turning it off accepts every pending follow request at once, and the card warns you before you save.
- Messages: Who can message me, Everyone, People I follow or Nobody. Location sharing under Location switches location off entirely.
- What others can see: nine parts of your profile, from Stats to Level & league, each Everyone, Followers or Nobody, with a count of what is visible to everyone.
- Lists & leaderboards: Appear on leaderboards and Show me on attendee & follower lists.
- Data & consent: Analytics, Marketing and Personalization, with a link to the Privacy policy.
Your data, below the form, offers Download my data: a JSON file with your profile, privacy settings, consent, follows and attended events.
If the settings cannot be read, the screen says so with Try again instead of showing defaults, so a save can never overwrite your real settings with them.
Requests
The Requests screen has two lists.
- Follow requests: people asking to follow your private account. Accept lets them see what your followers see; Refuse turns them down. A public account never receives any, and the card says so, with a way to Privacy & Data.
- Message requests: messages waiting for you to accept them before they reach your inbox. Accept or Decline.
Each request shows who sent it and when. A request only leaves the list once the answer has gone through; if it does not, it stays, and a message says so.
Blocked & restricted
The Blocked & restricted screen lists four groups, each explaining what it does: Blocked, Restricted, Hidden and Muted. Each person has one button, Unblock, Unrestrict, Unhide or Unmute.
The action is the confirmation. The person stays in place, marked Unblocked (or the matching word), with Undo beside it, in case you pressed the wrong row.
These lists are filled elsewhere: you block or restrict someone from their profile, and hide or mute them from the mobile app. Past six people, a search field and a filter by list appear above the cards.
Notifications
The bell at the top right of the admin gathers what happens on the pages and events you manage, and on your own account. On a phone, it sits in the dock at the bottom of the screen.
A red badge on the bell counts the unread notifications that ask something of you, up to 99+. Click the bell to open Notifications, in two tabs:
- To do: something waits for you, such as a dispute to answer, an invitation to accept or a webhook that stopped working,
- Activity: news that asks nothing of you, such as the day's sales, new followers or a press kit opened.
Click a notification to open the screen it is about; it is marked as read on the way. Mark all as read clears the tab you are on. What repeats makes one notification that counts, such as the orders of the day on an event: it counts one more and comes back unread with each new one. New notifications show up while the bell is open, without reloading.
On the screen of a page or an event, This page keeps only the notifications about it. With that filter on, Mute this page at the bottom of the list stops every notification about the page. You turn it back on from the settings.
You only hear about what your access lets you see: someone who cannot open an event's orders is not told about its sales. What you do yourself is not announced back to you.
Notification settings
The gear in the bell, Notification settings, and the Notifications link on Profile both open the settings screen, headed Notifications. Its categories are grouped in eight cards: Ticketing, Programming, Artists and venues, Crew, Your pages, Personal, Messages and Other. Each category says what it covers, with up to three switches:
- Bell: the notification shows in the bell,
- Push: it also reaches your phone, through the Sway app signed in to this account,
- Email: an email goes out when an urgent alert stays unread for 30 minutes, and at once for payments. Under Messages, it also covers the email that lists your conversations left unread for 30 minutes while you are away from Sway: see Messages.
A category only shows the switches it can use: the day's sales, for instance, never leave the bell. Everything is on until you turn it off. Turning the bell off for a category also stops its pushes and emails.
The switches save together: a bar reading Unsaved settings appears, with Discard and Save, and leaving the screen before saving asks Leave without saving? first.
Muted pages lists the pages you muted from the bell: nothing arrives for them. Turn back on brings a page back at once.
Your orders
My orders lists what you bought on Sway, tickets and merch, newest first. Open it from the left sidebar of Backstage, or from your picture at the top right of the admin.
It holds the orders placed while signed in to this account, and the ones placed with its email address before the account existed, once that address is confirmed. Tickets and Merch narrow the list; All brings everything back.
Each order opens in a new tab, where its emails already lead:
- a ticket order opens its tickets, to download them or put names on them,
- a merch order opens its order page: where it stands, the tracking link or the pickup code, and the withdrawal button.
A payment that did not go through is not an order, so it is not listed.
Delete your account
Deleting lives in one place: the panel at the bottom of Privacy & Data, beside Deactivate account and under Download my data. Profile does not offer it; its Privacy & Data link says so. The panel lists what deleting takes: your profile, your access to every page and event you manage, the files you uploaded, and Sway's emails to you.
Owning a crew blocks it. The panel then lists each crew you own, with Fix, which opens that crew's settings to transfer or delete it.
Delete Account asks you to type your username exactly, shown in the dialog so you can copy it. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
