Tickets
The Tickets tab is your wallet. It holds two kinds of ticket, side by side:
- Sway tickets — bought in the app, rendered as a QR code, scanned at the door.
- Imported tickets — a PDF or an image from any other ticketing service, kept in the app so everything is in one place.
Buying a ticket in the app
When an event sells through Sway, its page carries a Buy tickets bar at the bottom.
- Open the event page and tap Buy tickets.
- On Choose your tickets, set a quantity per ticket type. A type that is gone reads Sold out; a description unfolds under Details.
- Optionally enter a Promo code and tap Apply.
- Check the summary: subtotal, discount, Service fees, total.
- Tap Pay … and finish the payment on the secure Stripe page that opens. When the total is zero the button reads Get my tickets instead and there is no payment step.
- The app waits while the tickets are issued, then drops you on them.
When you cannot buy
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sales closed on a greyed, locked bar | The sales window for this event is over. |
| No tickets available right now | The promoter has no ticket type on sale at this moment. |
| Sold out on a row | That particular ticket type is gone; others may still be available. |
| Buy tickets opens a website instead of the in-app screen | This event sells through an external service. The button carries the same label and opens that service. |
| Register for the presale | The promoter is collecting registrations and will mail access links later, so there is nothing to buy yet. |
Importing a ticket bought elsewhere
- Open the Tickets tab.
- Tap the import button in the top bar.
- Pick the PDF or image from your phone.
The ticket is stored on the device and listed with the others. If it is not matched to the right event, open it and use Edit event details from its menu.
Your wallet
The Tickets tab splits into two tabs:
- Upcoming — events still to come, in chronological order.
- Past — everything that has already happened.
Each row shows the event image, the event name and date, and a ×N counter when you hold several tickets for the same event. A row for a ticket that has already been scanned is dimmed.
Two buttons sit in the top bar: import a ticket, and Scanner for staff working the door.
Opening a ticket
Tap a row to open the ticket full screen. If you hold several for that event, swipe between them — a counter reads 1 / 3 tickets.
A ticket type with a door condition carries it right under its name: Entry from 04:00, for one that only lets you in from that time, or Access: VIP for one restricted to a zone. The same line already showed at the shop before you bought it.
The ⋯ menu on a ticket offers:
| Item | Sway ticket | Imported ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Go to event page | ✅ | ✅ |
| Add to calendar | ✅ | ✅ |
| Download ticket (PDF) | ✅ | ❌ |
| Order details | ✅ | ❌ |
| Edit event details | ❌ | ✅ |
| Dissociate / Delete ticket | ❌ | ✅ |
A ticket that has been scanned at the door carries an Already scanned badge on this screen. The wallet list no longer repeats that badge on every row — the dimmed row says it.
Finding your tickets from an event page
The Overview tab of every event page carries a held-ticket counter at the bottom right, next to the buy button. It is always there — signed in or not, Sway ticketing or not, zero or not — and tapping it opens your wallet.
Scanning at the door
Staff with scanner rights reach the scanner two ways:
- Tickets tab → the scanner button in the top bar.
- Settings → Scanner.
Scanner access is granted per event from the web app, along with any door hours and zones the organiser has set. A ticket outside its zone or its own validity window is refused as Wrong entrance, Not valid yet or No longer valid, and staff can tap Let in anyway to let the person in regardless. An outdated app build shows a plain Invalid ticket instead, with no override. A scanner outside its own Scanner not active hours refuses every ticket, with no override at all. See Scanners for the full picture, including what each refusal means and how it is recorded.
